Guns and Butter..... and Nutters

Drink deep of Grace. The Tavern has plenty for all who would sup from the cup.

But Time is finite.

Put butter on your bread while you can because there are guns and nutters aplenty and their numbers increase.

The world is short of Grace.

It is also short of Statesmen.

It is essential to defend against an enemy. But what if everyone is the enemy?

What if it becomes impossible to tell the good guys from the bad guys.

We live in an age of 'Rights'. Well, in the soft West it seems. What if might turns out to be the last 'Right?

History is written by the victors, it is said.  Also, it is said, "And the meek shall inherit the Earth".

Or what is left of it.

China has the largest army in the world, by several orders of magnitude.

Russia. Remember them? They are still around, hunkered down for a while but building.

In the air too.

China has been quiet for a long while sorting itself out, getting ready to take it's place. It is every bit as powerful as any.

Bureaucratic Europe only seems to have lagged. They have not. NATO is huge.

The capabilities are far greater than butter.

There are 'smaller' nations with immense power. Not quite so immense as the Big ones. But when they sit on the powder keg with lighted matches.........

Putin: The Mafia Thug. Obama: the half-white ant. Hoo Say So; the Chinese Politburo man of the moment. Iranians. ISIS, Israeli, Tory, Labour, Democrat, Republican, Nationalist, National Socialist, International Socialist, Democratic Socialist. People's Democratic Socialist, Liberal........

Abortionist.

It used to be that a nation under threat could talk of 'Win', and 'Victory'.

That was Yesterday.

A new dawn may be different.

Tomorrow, perhaps today, it is more a matter of being Personally Good vs being Bad. There may be no 'National' win.

For you, Personally, PAX DEI.

For the world?

Perhaps that is the reason why I am mostly on the sidelines when politics come in to play. There is a bigger more important thing to try and focus on ;-)

  3. Well maybe it is just me. But determining who the bad guys are seems pretty obvious. That would be the mechanized cult of government, as it exist now. I do agree we need proper defences against enemies, but they need to be real enemies, and not manufactured ones such as the “War in Terrorism”, which, one more stealth bomber or drone is not going to fix.

As for the good guys, that would be the rest of us on planet earth, excluding the above minority of global centrist.

For those of us that take, morals from scripture the bible has wrote off government a long time ago.

In the ancient world the rise of agriculture became prominent then the formation of cities began and with them government. A pretty good example of a biblical perspective on that event is this.

    “Genesis 13
Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11 So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: 12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. 13 Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.”

Israel decided they want a King.

“6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. 7 And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. 8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”

10 Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. 12 Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 16 Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle[c] and donkeys he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes,

    >>you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”<<

I could go on and on with the fact that government as we know it is a well documented and reoccurring failure.
The real point though is that humanity is going to have to eventually make a decision as to will we support our own survival and decommission these militarist, or will we chose death and allow them to destroy the planet.

Our Bouncer is a gentleman of muscle and guile. His patience has limits. He will check you at the door.

The Tavern gets rowdy visitors from time to time. Some are brain dead and some soul dead. They attack customers and the bar staff and piss on the carpets. Those people will not be allowed in anymore. So... Be Nice..
