The Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day

Of the Eleventh Month.

We Remember.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

It was the most terrible start to the Century.

Then we did it again.

Evening Hymn, Last Post and Sunset
by The Central Band Of The Royal Air Force

Conducted by Wing Commander H.B Hingly MBE

Peace.

They fought hard for it.

Yes, other Nations' young men fought too and the slaughter was immense. I honour Australians here, just now, but do not dishonour those others.

God take and keep them all.

The Southern Gal understands. We can take one nation as an illustration of all others, and praise the sacrifice. She suggests the tribute video below.

It is notable that in the near 100 years the scale of war has changed.  The mass slaughter is now individual. The anonymous 'ranks' are now deeply skilled and equiped Knights.

These are, as always, the very best of Men.

Pax.

  2. My dear friend,
We thank God for such men as these today in my country. My papaw was one of them...I shed a tear for him. They are such a rare breed in my era...
A great post..... And a glass of sweet tea on the porch for you:)

    1. The tea refreshes my soul. Our men who sacrificed are all honourable and honoured family. Rest in Peace.

Our Bouncer is a gentleman of muscle and guile. His patience has limits. He will check you at the door.

The Tavern gets rowdy visitors from time to time. Some are brain dead and some soul dead. They attack customers and the bar staff and piss on the carpets. Those people will not be allowed in anymore. So... Be Nice..
