Australian Sock-Puppet of the Year

Every year in Oz we elevate someone to 'figurehead' position with a big 'do' in Canberra. There are so many worthy people doing fine things that it is difficult to choose just who is the most worthy, the most dedicated and most deserving of recognition and national Praise.

It is not often that any can get past the Bouncer and into the Tavern, however. Why? Because for several years now the 'chosen one' has been a puppet for PC agirprop.

We had that racist footballer fellow, Adam Goode, who did not live up to his mispelled name, crying foul against a little girl and causing her grief, yet lauded by the PTB in Canberra because he is Aboriginal. Make no mistake here; that is what he was made Australian of the Year for.  Being born black. He has done no real good in the nation.  You won't find him on the beach as a lifeguard in his spare time, like say, ex-PM Tony Abbott. Nor part of a fire brigade, again like Abbott. But Ozee of the Year is not for ex-PMs.

It is for sock-puppets.

Right now we have a particularly egregious person who made awful personal choices in her own life which led directly to the death of her own son. Poor woman. She has to be made a heroine.

Merely a Feminist Puppet

Since Rosie Batty became the Australian of the year her primary focus has been upon ending domestic violence against women, and while this is an important and worthy cause, Batty has not used her new found fame and position to promote the need to end all domestic violence and especially violence against children. 

Batty’s own son Luke was murdered by his father in February 2014, is the reason Batty is not focusing upon child abuse and especially child murder as the fact it does not fit the agenda of the feminist’s she is now representing, as more mothers kill their children in Australia than fathers.

Since her son Luke was killed in February 2014 Australia have seen many children killed by a biological parent, with the vast majority being killed by women. 

The first being a newly born child found buried on Maroubra Beach, with the mother being the prime suspect as Emma Partridge (2014) stated ‘police said they held grave concerns for the baby’s mother and urged her to come forward. They have contacted local hospitals in the hope they might be able to track down details of any newborn baby who might be missing or unaccounted for.‘ 

The mother was never found, but when it comes to the killing of newborn children mothers are the main perpetrators. 

As in this case the mother probably gave birth away from medical facilities so she could dispose of the child not long after giving birth. This is a common practice to the point that when this unknown mother’s child was discovered many in Australia argued for Baby Hatches, they are basically video return slots for babies, and are common throughout Europe.

Next came Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday who murdered seven of her own children and a niece. A week later she is portrayed by the mainstream media as the victim as her violent rampage was a product of the violence she had apparently endured at the hands of men. The Australian (2014) stated

‘familiar to locals as Aunty Mero, Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday had been a victim of domestic violence at the hands of at least one ex-partner. According to a friend, Beryl Jackson, she claimed to have been abused from the time she was a small girl, growing up on Darnley Island in the Torres Strait. Her personal demons must have been bottled up for years. Without warning, they exploded into what police say was a murderous rampage.’

Therefore excuses are made for her heinous actions, instead of asking why another mother has murdered her own children and what action can be taken to stop it from occurring again. 

This did not happen. Instead feminists proved again they are more interested in protecting women than children. 

This is proven when the next time a mother kills her own children she is not arrested until four months after the event and again portrayed as the innocent victim.

Akon Guode intentionally drove her vehicle into Wyndham Vale Lake, she was released on the same day of the suspected murders. 

Then as with Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday she was displayed in the press as an innocent victim when Steve Lillebuen (2015) wrote

‘she (Akoi Chabiet) also spoke highly of her “devoted” mother Akon Guode, who was at the wheel of the Toyota Kluger that ploughed through 20 metres of scrub, before plunging into the lake of Manor Lakes Boulevard. “My mother is a very good lady. She would never deliberately do this to hurt us or hurt my siblings.”

However, she is now in police custody and facing three charges of murder. There has been no feminist outcry regarding the fact she was released and then allowed to reside in the same house as four children. 

However, if a man commits a similar heinous crimes they receive far different treatment by the police, media and society.

One example is Stephen Playford who is facing charges for murdering his 6 year old daughter, after killing her at the family home. Playford was immediately arrested and held in custody even though at the time acting Detective Superintendent Geoff Sheldon was quoted by ABC News (2015) as saying “We don’t even know the cause of death — it could be a horrible medical condition or it could be something else, or anywhere in between, that’s why we’re trying to get as much information as we can.” 

It appears Playford did indeed murder his daughter, and was rightfully arrested, yet it is apparent he received different treatment from the mothers previously charged for murdering their children. The next male to end the life of their own child was Joshua Homann.

Homann has been charged with murdering his partner Kirralee Paepaerei and due to the fact she was pregnant he killed his own unborn child in the process. He has not been charged with murdering his unborn child as this is not possible under New South Wales Law. 

There has now been a massive outcry from feminists and other members of society to have the law changed so Homann faces two counts of murder not one. 

As Alison Balding (2015) stated ‘under NSW law, Mr Homann has been charged for Ms Paepaerei’s murder but not that of his unborn daughter Mia’s.’ 

There is now a massive petition pushing for the introduction of Mia’s Law where killers of pregnant women are charged with two counts of murder. The question is not if the law should be introduced, the question is .. 

why do feminists not push for harsher penalties when one of their own commits the same brutal and sickening crime as a man.

Since Batty lost her son Luke 12 children have been murdered by mothers and 2 plus an unborn child by fathers. 

Yet the fathers have been treated as guilty immediately whilst the mothers have been treated as either victims or innocent despite their crimes. 

Where were Batty and the feminists demanding Guode be monitored 24 hrs out of concern for her remaining four children. Guode committed her crimes on the 8th of April and was not arrested until the 7th of August. This gave the feminists ample time to argue their point by claiming that Guode’s may have been in danger living with a murderer, but they do not appear to have been concerned. Instead, they seem to have been waiting for a male to commit a similar crime so they could introduce even harsher laws against men.

The actions of Homann have been used by feminists to argue that any man convicted of any form of domestic violence against a woman to be monitored. Yet the same people did not come out in the press and demand Guode be monitored, instead they attempted to portray her as completely innocent. 

This displays that feminists and their new leader Rosie Batty are not truly interested in protecting all children from domestic violence, only those abused by men as this fits their worldview that all men are inherently evil. 

Pity they cannot see the same evil in their own gender, even when innocent children are murdered.

The feminists want men convicted of domestic abuse to wear bracelets so they can be monitored, and if people see the bracelet they will be able to brand the wearer an abuser of women and children. 24 hour camera surveillance in their homes, to make sure any woman they come into contact is safe from any potential violence. 

However the same people are not arguing that the mother who attempted to murder her child by throwing it literally into a drain be named and publically shamed. 

Almost no-one in Australia would know who she is, they could be living next door to her, and what if another man meets her why should he not be warned that if she becomes pregnant she may murder his child. Yet the mother cannot be named for legal reasons, her named has been suppressed for her own protection, yet men will be forced to suffer indignity and public humiliation.

Batty does not appear as interested in protecting children from domestic violence as she is in pushing the feminists’ agenda; this appears to be Batty’s and the feminists who stand in the shadows behind her main purpose. 

They do not come across as being interested in actually attempting stop to all forms of domestic violence against all people, no matter their sex. This has been displayed constantly by Batty and the feminists as they scream loud and demand male offenders be punished beyond the boundaries of current Australian Laws as they argue for harsher penalties and the introduction of new laws as in the case of Homann. Yet when a woman murders her own children the same people argue for leniency and understanding and even allow suspect female child murderers to live in the same house as other potential child victims.

Batty and her cohorts are attempting to have dangerous double standards introduced into Australian law where male perpetrators of domestic violence receive much harsher penalties than women who commit similar offences. 

If Batty and her feminist supporters truly wish to end domestic violence they should spend the rest of her term as Australian of the Year and beyond educating Australian society that ..

women are just as capable of domestic violence and killing their own children as men.

Additionally, that halting domestic violence also means women and especially violent mothers need to look at themselves just as hard as violent men, and to take responsibility for their actions, no matter the cost, as no man woman or child should be made to suffer domestic through domestic violence.

My good friends, James - who has been looking at the infamous Hotel California - the Chateau Marmont -  and Cherie who has been taking a look at Miramare near Trieste, have focused my mind on the move I shall have to make in the next few months. The Tavern is getting too noisy to live in and my new quarters in the grounds are temporary. To where shall I move? I might have to go into the cellars, before my time !!

And a very good un-named friend in the USA is planning a move soon too, and has bought a block of land upon which to build a home.  Plans are afoot, as they say.

I have found that the British amongst the customers of the Tavern mostly all have a soft spot for Oz, and the Americans really cannot make us out at all. This Oz place is as magical to many Americans as it was to Dorothy. An English-speaking -  nay! English - place down under, and a Tavern at the End of the World, in Tasmania, the most southerly inhabited and civilised place on the Planet. A very wealthy and enormous country with tiny, comfortable Tasmania being one of its federated States.  

It is a land that some MRAs aspire to but do not seem to gather the wherewithall to make the move.

I cannot say that this old Knight is without his comfort.  Although not in the slightest wealthy m'self any more,  having left my castle for a pub, I do aspire well beyond my current capacity and hark back to when I was a King and had a modest Palace in the Huon Valley. My current accomodations barely count.

So, some real estate agents were in the pub celebrating their middleman (and woman) cut of some large pies. I took note. While many very expensive properties are to be found, and the market is 'booming', especially with furrin' buyers, there are still some pads that have been sitting waiting for some time, and with huge price tags. 

Kirsten was with the agents and gave a bit of an eye opening view.

Racism in Oz

A description frequently heard in this tavern is the phrase 'Hilary's Village'.  It is something of a catch-all for the strange and sometimes dangerously moronic behaviours of the general mob outside the Tavern's hedges.  Some of it is quite mad, albeit mildly. Bad, often.

Matters such as the 'charges' levelled at anyone who has a view other than those favoured by the left 'progressives'.  Fines and jail sentences for having an opinion against abortion may be an extreme, along with massive fines for refusing to bake a cake. On the more endemic and perhaps simply verbal coercions are the favourite shut -downs of 'Racist'. It ranks alongside 'Islamaphobia' and 'Homophobia'. and 'Bigot'. 

As Christopher Hitchens is said to have said , 

"" Islamophobia a word created by fascists, and used by cowards, to manipulate morons.”"

I am not at all sure he did say it, but it is true nonetheless.

One can be thankful that we do not have any Aztecs in Oz otherwise......

Our particular way of life, our laws and social mores have all been carefully evolved and sometimes hard-fought-for over generations. They are not the same as other nations. They are better.  To say so is not bigoted or racist. It is simply a sound assessment and judgement.  Debate it if you wish.

The ABC, our National broadcaster stands on the ramparts cheering on the real bigots. They even organise meetings to 'debate' it. We do not object to debate. The ABC's way of 'debate' is to range five on one side and one on the other, and stack the audience to boot.

We opened the Restaurant to Rita Panahi yesterday, to throw a small, intimate dinner for her. A few hundred attended. And they were far better people than had attended the meeting she had been invited to by the ABC.

The Nuclear Option : Changes Afoot

One having to be ruled in and one being ruled out. A busy night for the old Knight. No sooner had we heard from Mike about the anti-male police corruption in the UK, than Angela sat down and showed us that matters are just as bad in Oz. Her beef was about similar 'lobby groups' who have the ears of the High and Mighty and determined to undermine not just the dreaded "Men !!! (tm)", but the family.

On the tail of today's news that North Korea and it's mad, bad rulers have now developed and tested a nuclear bomb, we see that the other nuclear option closest to home is being phased out.

Drowning in social media sludge, propelled by intimidatory elites … so much has been written in the past couple of weeks about what should and should not be said in public that McAuley’s letter to Dryden could merit a posthumous award for foresight.

But not even he could have foreseen the triumph of the long march this year when reason would be replaced by insults and a sly slogan would replace the hard, unchangeable truth about nature, sex and marriage.

He might not have been shocked to know there was a “debate” about marriage — his poem predicts the terrible results of marriage’s decline — but he would be shocked that only people on one side of this joke “debate” were being hauled off to anti-discrimination tribunals and threatened with fines for their thoughts about how normal sex and marriage should be taught to children.

So what are the guardians of education’s portals, those keepers of right think, teaching our children these days? Educators must go along with whatever the proper thinking is on the issue du jour and, consequently, everything is reduced to the rubrics of a series of interlocking agendas: gender, multiculturalism, gay rights, whatever. It has nothing to do with reality or, God forbid, knowledge.

So is gay marriage a challenge to the natural family? No, it is about equality, and “diversity”, love hearts and going to school wearing purple. Domestic violence? Of course, that is really about gender equality, and teaching “relationships”. 

Excuse me while I guffaw.

We shall all join in. 

Consequently in Victoria “educators” have seized the moment to kill two birds with one stone. They have decided to scrap religion, the hallmark of the old verities, by tagging on to the fashionable hand-wringing over “domestic violence”.

They have decided it is irrelevant that the Christian religion teaches the most basic respectful tenant of the second commandment, to love your neighbour as yourself. 

Never mind about leaving children ignorant of the religious traditions that permeate our whole culture from art to poetry to everything, including a grasp of human rights. In fact, where do they think human rights even came from?

And who cares what families think or want? Nobody has asked them, even though it is actually from them, not in a classroom, that children learn domestic harmony.

None of this is relevant to the guardians because better cultural and philosophical education is not what this attempt to stamp out religion from state schools is about. 

It is about replacing the last defence of the ordinary verities with a confection made up of shallow rights — talk as seen through the distorted prism of the gender wars, cleverly bound up in the emotional hysteria primed and propelled by electronic and social media.

Young people are very susceptible to emotionalism Consequently, facts, whether about gay marriage or domestic violence or anything else, become irrelevant. It is the vibe that matters.

Take domestic violence. Even though the gender warriors want us to believe the average suburban home where more than 70 per cent of Australian children live with both parents is a hidden maelstrom of male violence, it is not particularly prevalent. 

The worst, most shocking violence — physical and sexual — against women and children in Australia, indeed anywhere in the West, occurs in indigenous settlements racked with drugs, alcoholism and pornography.

But this doesn’t fit the gender rubric, or the multicultural one, or the libertarian one, either. 

Everyone is dead scared of the feminist/libertarian columnists, bloggers and academics who are running the domestic violence agenda aided by online campaigns such as White Ribbon, so facts are ignored.

Hmmmm. I count m'self as something of a Libertarian. But heck, why confine me to one description. I have other, better ones. 

Here are some facts about domestic violence. 

Which women are more prone to violence? 

Unmarried women. 

Which men are more prone to dish it out, especially to children? 

To use the officialese, “resident unrelated males” — in normal speak, the boyfriend. 

Who are likelier to kill children? 

Mothers are. 

Who is the next likeliest to kill them and physically or sexually assault children? 

The boyfriend. 

Who is least likely to kill or to sexually or physically assault children? 

Their father.

Sensible people would see these facts as pointers to the protective nature of the strong natural bond, between men, women and their children, and an increase in domestic violence, as a symptom of decline of that bond, especially combined with drugs and alcohol.

But defending the nuclear family isn’t part of any agenda, especially of the lobby groups that actively have sought its obliteration.

Corruption

It is barely noticeable to the man in the street just what corruption goes on behind the scenes. We are all too busy getting on with life and the corrupt count on that to distract us. Like magicians they use sleight of hand and hope we do not see their trickery. Unlike magicians they are not doing it to entertain, but to gain. And they have their assistants, "the lovely Doreen" to help in the deception.

Mike Buchanan came by to show us some exposure work by another friend of mine in the UK.  He shall remain in the corner of the UK room supping his pint while we take a look at his work.

It concerns some who are making a small fortune by decieving us about Domestic Violence. In Oz we have our very own Rosemary Batty, an empowered, modern woman whose choice of husband and her own inadequacy brought about the death of her little boy. 

Of course she became the heroine of the year, and Australian of the Year too, She made a series of bad decisions and otherwise has done nothing of any constructive note in her life, yet.... Honours!! She is on the gravy train, encouraged and scripted by the women's lobby, NGOs and Gummunt Departments, feted, wined (lots of wine) dined and paraded to parrot the PC jargon. She is the Oz  'Doreen'.  She grins and wiggles at the side of the stage so you do not look at the thieves and decievers. Men, of course, are strapped into the box to be sawn in half for your entertainment and box-office takings.

Rosie feeds off her son's death like a vampire.

You and I and the taxpayers are played and rooked.

But to the UK. There it is no simple stage act. It reaches right to the top of national and local politics. Follow the money and look for the Doreens.

By now you can’t have failed to miss the scandal engulfing Northumbia Police concerning their sexism against male victims of domestic violence. 

The police force, ultimately headed by radical  feminist Police and Crime Commissioner Vera Baird produced a series of sexist and hopefulness outdated posters, all of which pushed the totally debunked narrative of domestic violence comprising of male perpetrators and female victims.

To compound matters further, Baird refused to listen to anyone’s concerns and instead blocked all manner of people who highlighted her sexism on Twitter, including male domestic violence victims in her own region who she was supposed to be helping.

HEqual has followed this story from the very start and thanks in part to our work the force was even forced to issue a statement about its sexism and the story appeared  in a number of media outlets such as Breitbart, the Independent,Daily Mail and the local press. Many of these articles are factually correct and quite well written, but there’s also a great deal of unreported and hugely significant material we’ve uncovered that’s yet to appear anywhere else.

Baird’s sexist posters prompted numerous complaints and HEqual was prompted to investigate the correct procedure for reporting her sex discrimination. Although it’s possible to complain to the police or the Police Complaints Commission, we noticed that concerns about actual Police and Crime Commissioners and excluded from such procedures. Instead, as quoted on the Northumbria PCC’s website the procedure is as follows:

You will note, as everyone in the Tavern did, that the posters all indict Men !!! (tm) as bad guys and women as their sorry victims, while conveniently ignoring the well appreciated experience that all the behaviours detailed are common female  abuse strategies. They are not confined to men and indeed are common amongst even ordinary, otherwise non-abusive women.

In accordance with the provisions that are contained in the Elected Local Policing Bodies (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2012, the Police & Crime Panel have determined that.. 

....any complaints about the Police and Crime Commissioner or the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner will be dealt with, in the first instance, by the Monitoring Officer, who is the Chief Executive of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

So the gatekeeper for complaints about Baird and the person running her office is is Elaine Snaith, she’s paid a salary of£75,000 and her full job description is at:

We decided to examine whether she was likely to be a fair minded and neutral  individual who’s going to take all the complaints and her job description seriously and actually  act in the interests of all the people of Northumbria, male or female. Fortunately she’s on twitter and her bio appears as follows:

Before we go any further it’s important to establish a few basic facts. 

Firstly the outrage concerning the posters shows that most of the public  felt they were completely sexist or at least completely unhelpful. A poll by the Newcastle Chronicle initially indicated over 80% of the readers were of this view. 

Secondly, the police statement about the scandal shows they recognised these concerns. In fact, only six posters in the series ever appeared on the Police Force’s Facebook account, with the “one day to go” poster notable for its absence. Therefore it’s reasonable to assume the  criticisms were accepted to such an extent that the police even withdrew the last poster in the series.

Unfortunately, while some in the force clearly appreciate just how sexist and disgraceful it is to whitewash from existence some 40% of domestic violence victims, the message still hasn’t got through at Baird’s office.

Whilst Baird kept silent on the matter and blocked male victims of domestic violence who complained, Snaith’s approach was somewhat different and it’s abundantly clear from her Twitter feed that she supports the discrimination against male victims in the posters 100%.

Of particular interest to feminists was the poll in the Newcastle Chronicle showing  overwhelmingly that readers were of the opinion that their posters were sexist. Clearly such a fact was hugely embarrassing to not only Baird and the police but to gender feminists as a whole and as a result a Twitter campaign was launched to attempt to influence the poll. 

While many behind the campaign are some of the most extreme feminists around we’ve uncovered tweets from very prominent UK feminists and even taxpayer funded feminist organisations encouraging or instructing others to vote 'no' in the poll and pretend the blatantly sexist posters weren’t sexist. Figures and organisations involved in or supporting this Twitter campaign include:

• Beatrix Campbell – Journalist and Green Party politician

• Welsh Women’s Aid

One of the most active individuals in this campaign was none other than Snaith herself. 

Since she joined twitter she averaged less than four tweets per day yet on December 31st alone we counted well over 100 tweets or retweets about the poll and the sexist posters.

In all fairness, a minority of the feminists who’ve tweeted about the poll have done so in a fairly reasonable manner and simply encouraged others to participate, therefore trusting them to make up their own minds about the posters. We’ve even done the same ourselves. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Baird’s office with Snaith tweeting the following:

So not only is the person who handles every single complaint about Baird’s sexism fully supportive of it, she’s also tried to rig a vote about said sexism by telling people how they should vote rather than letting them make up their own minds. 

Worse still, even the argument she provides in support of the No vote campaign is a blatant lie too.

Sir Michael Scholar of the UK statistics authority has twice dealt with such matters and as a result both the Crown Prosecution Service and the Welsh Government have been officially forced to remove similarly misleading statements from their publications. 

Thanks to these rulings taxpayer funded bodies in the UK are barred from saying  the overwhelming/vast majority of victims of domestic violence are women, and that’s becasue to say such a thing is complete nonsense. 

The UK Crime Survey consistently demonstrates that 40% of victims are men and so so year after year.

In addition to her lie and countless retweets about the poll campaign , Snaith then sent out a second “vote no” request. Then, as the poll figures start to sway in Baird’s favour, Snaith tweeted a progress update to both Baird’s official PCC Twitter account and even the main police Force Twitter account to instructing them both to “Retweet the hell out of this”:

Finally, once the result is was more secure, Snaith ran off to the local paper sending multiple tweets about the “result” and requesting they write a “more balanced article” to reflect the brigaded poll result.

Of course, as with so many 'polls' of this ilk, one or two individuals can 'vote' time and time again in fine Socialist fashion. Just think how many votes you can get from whispering to the sistahood.  

But here it is far more than a whisper and the people and organisations 'appealed' to are funded by.... guess who?.... you. 

On Monday, Northumbria Police stepped up this fiasco s step further. 

In an interview with Chronicle they said: “We are pleased that 60% of those who voted in the Chronicle’s poll agree with us that it appropriately targets women victims and male perpetrators, and is not, in doing so, sexist”. 

I doubt very much that the poll result ever hit 60% “no” but if it ever did it was for the briefest possible moment and totally and utterly due to feminist brigading. Furthermore, the Baird and thus the Police Force had to be fully aware of what was going on as it was partially organised by her closest colleague in her own office.

Despite the major Twitter campaign by high profile UK feminists (and the police)  the result really hasn’t been that impressive. At one point the yes vote went as low as 45%, but it’s already back up to 48% which is hardly a resounding victory though it is a major change from actual public opinion if nothing else.

Ultimately though, having taxpayer funded feminists flood a single poll with votes to change its result in no way changes reality.

Mind you, the taxpayer is never consulted about the use of (predominantly) his money. 

Any internet threads, newspaper article comments and Facebook discussions about this matter are overwhelmingly against the posters and view them as sexist and dishonest and that’s becasue most people are aware that both men and women can be violent and abusive in relationships.

It’s also important not to lose sight of the real issues here. 

Those playing around with this poll aren’t simply rigging a result. They’re also openly showing support for sexism against men by the police and they’re opposing the very idea of putting a male identity on any single poster and thus recognising male victims and helping them to come forward.  

Furthermore, by pretending the poll results are in any way legitimate the police themselves are being completely dishonest with the general public who pay their wages and they’re certianly not an organisation you’d want to place any sort of trust in.

To think we pay Baird and Snaith a combined £160,000 to openly discriminate against men is staggering , given such high salaries it’s  little wonder that they’re not keen on having their sexism exposed for all to see. To think that they’d rather block victims of abuse on Twitter and mess around with influencing newspaper polls instead of actually do their jobs and helping and supporting male victims of abuse is utterly shameful.

But let us not mention the TV 'weather' woman who just the other year  made a sexist pass at a chap minding  his own business on a beach. Not a bit of outrage there. And why this time? Is it because it was a sleazy man? Or was it to distract us from something far more important and deadly?

It was more like the day the rivers of blood began to flow in earnest. 

Since his election, for which we can thank the great American people, the Middle East has turned back to a medaeval  hellhole of religious genocidal barbarism; Russia has emerged, bear-like and grizzly from its post-oligarchic slumber; and China has decided that it is high time the Middle Kingdom  claimed its place at the head of the global Yum-Cha table.

I can see that the year has started with some clarity.

Cold Times for Catholics

First they came for the Jews. That civilised land of poetry, philosophy, music and high art, Germany, decended into Hell in the 20th Century, driving the Jewish people into the gas chambers. Who will be next? 

It took a world war to eradicate - or at least diminish - the evil, and half a century more to restore the soul of the German people.  It looks like the 21st Century will be the turn of Catholics and other Christians. And the evil will not be confined to one civilised country but to an entire civilisation. The 'Western Christendom'. 

Cold times lie ahead.

There is good news and bad already.

Two 'happenings' were the talk of the Tavern today, after the new years celebrations left-overs have been tidied up. Firstly from the deep ice of Antarctica, which we all know is just south of the Great Land of Oz: and the other from the icy heart of Melbourne in Oz itself.

Antarctica is an amazing giant continent at the south pole of our globe. Braving winter temperatures of over a hundred degrees Fahrenheit below zero, a few thousand people live there at any given time. And because, like normal people, they have spiritual needs, there are a number of chapels at the various bases.

It just so happens that the southernmost chapel (of any religion) is a Catholic chapel at the Argentinian Belgrano II Base (still over 800 miles from the south pole). And it has a unique attribute: it is carved out of pure ice.

That’s right, it’s in a permanent ice cave.

It is a pity - to this old Knight's mind - that the Argentinians could not remain friends with the Anglophile world and with Britain in particular.  People are one thing - we can actually like and even Love people - but Governments and the massive, evil egos that congregate in them, are quite another.

The first Belgrano base was built in the 1950s, but had to be abandoned since the ice on which it was built wasn’t stable enough. Finding good places for permanent bases is tough since 98% of Antartica is covered in ice. Fortunately, the Argentine government found about a hectare of ice-free land nearby, and Belgrano II Base was opened in 1979.

Nonetheless, in some ice nearby, people dug out a system of tunnels, and built a Catholic chapel inside.

It is still apparently used by scientists working on the base today.

It is heartening. The Word is on all Continents. What is to come after all have been able to hear it? Some choose not to, of course. And worse.

Perhaps we can see what is bound to happen in various places by looking to see is happening now, here in Oz.

George Pell: 

a scapegoat at the altar of progressivism.

Cardinal George Pell already has appeared before the royal commission twice.

Australians concerned about freedom of religion in this country would be well advised to look beyond the present and likely future debate over same-sex marriage.

Already, what was until recently the traditional view, that marriage is a union between a man and a woman, is being presented as offensive at best and discriminatory at worst by some who advocate what they term marriage equality.

It is not only many believers who hold the traditional view about marriage. However, it is possible that the Catholic Church and some other Christian denominations, plus adherents of Hinduism and Islam, will be targeted for their attitudes on this issue by government tribunals and the like in the future. The first instance is already manifesting itself in Tasmania with respect to the Catholic Church.

Indeed, the Catholic Archbishop of Hobart, Julian Porteous, is the target of vicious hatreds already and he has only been in the job a year. 

For an example of how current government-funded institutions regard religion, attention should be given to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. 

The royal commission has done good work in revealing the extent of mainly historical cases of child sexual abuse in churches and secular and government institutions up until relatively recent times.

Evidence before the royal commission indicates that sexual abuse was at a high level in the Catholic Church until about two decades ago, particularly in Victoria in the archdiocese of Melbourne and the diocese of Ballarat in the 1970s, 80s and early 90s.

The Catholic Church has never been a democracy. Each archdiocese or diocese is ruled by an archbishop or bishop respectively who reports directly to the Pope in Rome.

Evidence given to the royal commission and the Victorian parliamentary inquiry demonstrates that Frank Little (archbishop of Melbourne from 1974 to 1996) and Ronald Mulkearns (bishop of Ballarat from 1971 to 1997) knew of instances of pedophilia in their areas of responsibility but covered them up.

George Pell was the first archbishop or bishop to act against child sexual abuse when he set up the Melbourne Response in 1996, just three months after being appointed archbishop of Melbourne. This was the first time Pell had been in charge of an archdiocese or diocese.

Even so, Pell has very much been the target of the royal commission. 

It could be that such an expensive and longstanding organisation wants a high-profile target. And Pell is one of the best known Australians. Moreover, the cardinal has an international reputation and is the third most senior figure in the Vatican.

Pell already has appeared before the royal commission twice, once in person and once by video link from Rome. He also appeared in person at the Victorian parliamentary inquiry.

It has been known for some time that Pell has a heart condition. Yet on December 11 royal commission chairman Peter McClellan dismissed the cardinal’s request to give evidence via video link from Rome. This despite the fact Pell had a doctor’s certificate stating he was unfit to undertake long-distance air travel and that other witnesses, resident in Australia, had given evidence by video link.

Clearly the royal commission wants Pell in the witness box, even though such a personal appearance is most unlikely to change his evidence.

In the hearings last month, many of the high-profile claims about what Pell allegedly was told concerning child sex abuse between two and four decades ago collapsed under cross-examination from the cardinal’s lawyers.

It may be that the royal commission has a secondary agenda — namely, by focusing on the conservative Pell, it hopes to influence the Catholic Church to move to a less theologically conservative mindset.

The socialists hate him for being Conservative.

Two case studies illustrate the point.

On August 24 last year, the royal commission interviewed Geoffrey Robinson. The retired bishop is a progressive and a critic of Pell. Despite anticipation in the media, he said little about Pell except that he and many of his colleagues disliked the cardinal. But Robinson declared that, in the late 1980s, he regarded Mulkearns as “one of the more forward-looking bishops”.

Towards the end of his testimony, Robinson criticised “obligatory celibacy” for priests and what he termed the “creeping infallibility” of the Pope. Much to the apparent satisfaction of counsel assisting, Gail Furness SC.

Not that either has anything to do with sexual abuse which occurs amongst teachers, especially female teachers, at a far greater rate than celibate priests. But there will not be a Royal Commission into that. 

Last month, John Walshe, the parish priest of Mentone in Melbourne, was called to the witness stand for several hours across two days. This followed his decision to make a statement supporting Pell’s recall of a phone conversation with child sex abuse victim David Ridsdale.

Counsel assisting, Angus Stewart SC, accused Walshe of having “fabricated” evidence because of his friendship with Pell. 

It was never suggested that any witnesses critical of Pell might be guilty of fabricating evidence because of their enmity towards the cardinal.

Before this exchange, Stewart put it to Walshe that he had “similar viewpoints on theological questions” to that of Pell, including “a conservative theology of priesthood and sexual morality”. McClellan later intervened to imply that there should be a “greater role” for “women in the church”. Later still, McClellan did not intervene when counsel for one of the victims raised issues such as married priests and even the Latin mass. 

None of this is directly related to clerical child sexual abuse.

The church in Victoria is divided into the archdiocese of Melbourne plus the dioceses of Ballarat, Sale and Sandhurst (based at Bendigo). The members of the hierarchy who most frequently turned a blind eye to the crimes of their priests were Little and Mulkearns in Melbourne and Ballarat respectively. 

Neither was a theological conservative. 

On the available evidence there was much less child sexual abuse in Sale and Sandhurst, where there was a conservative tradition.

It has been reported subsequently on the ABC and in Fairfax Media that, when a young priest, Walshe was found by church authorities to have had an improper sexual relationship with an 18-year-old seminarian. This was a serious indiscretion but not a crime. However, neither news organisation has covered the recent revelation in The Australian that one of Pell’s most high-profile accusers is a convicted pedophile.

The lack of balance in the media’s reporting of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church reflects the fact many journalists detest Pell’s conservatism. There are disturbing signs that a similar disposition is evident in the royal commission, which runs the risk of breaching the division between church and state.

It is a witch-hunt. They want Cardinal Pell's scalp because he is a Catholic, a Cardinal, a Conservative and the most 'successful' Australian in the Catholic Church.

He has the very 'High Profile' that the demons want to bring down.

I shall pray for Cardinal Pell.

It may not save him from the Progressives and their media lap dogs, but I am pretty sure it will count for him where it matters most.
