Being Human

The week or two past have seen me busy on the front lines. I have spent some time in the Crypt too on my old and knackered knees and occasionally imbibing some of the stocks of ale Graciously stored in the cellars by my Supplier.

Grace takes the shutters from the eyes of Tavern Keeper and customer both.

Every customer who comes into the Tavern started 14 million years ago as a twinkle in the void when there were no eyes to see, and only lately took Human form. And here we take our fill of the same Grace that brought us into being.

Creation is a marvel. We come, more recently, from the remnants of exploded stars. Stardust. Literally.

It is a wonder.  Quite violent too, out there.

And what a world we come into. Fine in parts and not so fine in other bits.

I have been subjected to invective and curses on the streets of the Hilary Village down the mountain where they swear by raising children. Apparantly all the folk there are needed to raise a child.

Unfortunately, not only can they not do it as has been done since before we could read and write - that is a Mum and a Dad do it pretty well by themselves -  but they cannot even agree on when human beings actually start. To them a 'child' is a questionable concept.

So I reminded them, as best I could, down there, and they did not appreciate it one bit !

So I had some signs put up around the gates.

Human existence contains only two defining instants,
 which are conception and death.
And this is not a matter simply of religion
but of biology.

All other milestones, no matter the name given to it,
be that embryo, foetus, baby, toddler, teenager,
adult, old person or ‘disabled’,
no matter how dramatically recognized in society,
simply amount to transitional phases in the human life cycle.

So despite all of the grandiose but empty oratory,
any individual who does not advocate the defence of all innocent human life
 between those two landmarks
is an individual who holds no regard for the
sanctity of human life on the whole.

They don't appreciate that either.

The current destructive meme infecting the village is that not only are we all not equal but some are so much more equal than others that they can kill those others with impunity. And the Law supports them. It is....

Women's Rights.

Those others whom the 'women's rights' destroy are the most vulnerable amongst us.

So the posters inside the Tavern tell the tale of who we are and how we get to see the light.

This is one of the Most Complex bits of matter in the Universe.

It is a customer, 4 days after fertilisation.

What? That zygote doesn’t look human? Well, scientifically, it is! It’s growing, so it must be alive. It has human parents, so it must be human. It certainly isn't a diamond or a bar of gold, but it is worth a lot more.

In fact, since fertilization, that zygote has possessed a predetermined sex (it’s a girl!) and her own unique set of human DNA. Her DNA will guide her body’s development over the next nine months and for the rest of her entire lifetime!

She will not grow into a camel or an alligator.

Remember, don’t judge or discriminate against other human beings just because they don’t look like us!

It is an odd thing but the invective screamers scream very much the same thing at other times. "You must not discriminate". "You should be inclusive"

Hah! They make no sense even to themselves.

Here is a future discriminator at 6 weeks.

Despite being only a quarter of an inch long, her nose, mouth, and ears are already taking shape! Her heart is beating about 100 times a minute (almost twice as fast as yours) and blood is beginning to circulate through her body. Brain waves have been detectable for at least 2-3 weeks already!

They grow FAST. Quite a large part of the 'Mum' resources are hard at work. At 7 weeks.....

At 10 weeks. If 'mum' could see this she would be imagining a future olympic runner; a gymnast.  Look at those legs!

Right now she is all Potential. Who knows who she will be and what she will become. We are a 'becoming' being throughout our lives. She might, one day, invent or discover something that will change the world.

But onward. They grow like topsy.

12 weeks. Her muscles are beginning to bulk up, so she’s busily stretching and kicking. If you put your hand on mum's tummy, she’ll likely wiggle in response (the baby, that is, not mum) because her reflexes are starting to develop, although you won’t feel it yet.

Stop a moment.

Aborting her now means dismembering her.

Tearing her apart.

The thought is horrific.

'Vulnerable' mothers processed through the "Women's Reproductive Health" industy's abortuaries will not be shown these pictutes.  They will be told "You are doing the right thing".

4 weeks later. 16 weeks.

18 weeks. Right about now, she has her own unique set of fingerprints.
6 months The baby can now respond to external sounds by moving and increasing the pulse. A mother may notice jerking motions if the baby hiccups!

This baby can hear and is beginning to recognize her mother’s voice.

Her skin is pink and she already is beginning to get that cute, chunky appearance that newborns have. That extra fat is very important, because it allows the baby to regulate her temperature after birth.

And on we go. She is still 'unsafe' in Hilary's Village. She is only half-way to her birth.  She is considered by many to be useless, worthless until then.

This is a Human Being. She has been since Conception.

Seven Months. OK, only her mother can love her looking like this.
But so many, many mothers do not.

One month to go. 8 months and counting the days. She is comtemplating getting ready to go out. As she is a girl, she will take her time.

It is not too late though for a Doctor to tear or cut her limbs off, and pierce her little head with a spike. Or just leave a full, intact baby to die of suffocation and exposure in a dish in a cupboard.

This little girl will be born into a Vale of Tears. For such is life.

But some tears will be for Joy.

When she is old enough to come into the Tavern, I will have a suitable drink ready on the bar for her.

She will be a customer, a Child of God; possibly a future Heroine or Saint.

But before that she will have a lot to learn. I just pray that 'Womyn's Rights' do not entrap her into the selfishness of so many modern women.

May the Holy Mother Mary watch over her.

  1. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
    ~ James 1:27

  2. You can tell how far a society has gotten away from God by how it treats the helpless. The elderly, the disabled..... the unborn. How can we continue to call ourselves "civilized" when we strip the unborn of their humanity? Thats the question I would like the leftists to answer. Great writing old friend. Google wouldn't let me post the verse with my comment.

    1. Both there now :)

No good can come from such carnage. Only pain and distortion of the 'visible and the invisible'.

  3. That was sheer poetry---

    1. Well, thank you. But flattery will get you just a glass of water. If you want some fine Grace in a tankard, you will have to address the issues. I will pour a tankard for you in expectation. :)

  4. This is a beautifully written post, Barkeep.
Now that science has shown us clearly what faith has known for thousands of years, namely the reality of the humanity of the unborn, one question remains in the 'difficult decision ' of abortion: Can a mother justify the murder of her child ?

  5. Moving journey through parturience.

    1. A baby's first nine months: inside. :)

Ne meias in stragulo aut pueros circummittam.

Our Bouncer is a gentleman of muscle and guile. His patience has limits. He will check you at the door.

The Tavern gets rowdy visitors from time to time. Some are brain dead and some soul dead. They attack customers and the bar staff and piss on the carpets. Those people will not be allowed in anymore. So... Be Nice..
