The Day of Wrath

Big day. First day of December and the first Sunday. I go down to the cellar in few hours.

Yes it is time attend to the Crypt.

I have come in for a bit of flack recently. Someone said I was 'Sanctimonious'.

Hah!

I am a sinner on the road to redemption like everyone else. I just know it.

And the Crypt is where I do humble work, mopping the floor and getting the grime out from between the flagstones with a toothbrush. Thank goodness for modern equipment. The Keeper keeps the Grail's place tidy.

I like a bit of music to set the mood.

And when it is done, a proper Latin Mass.

Kyrie Eleison. Lord Have Mercy.

Pray for the Mothers, the Fathers, the Babies, the Children.

Pray for the Trolls.

They know not what they do.

Ask: Whom Does the Grail Serve.

Pax Dei Vobiscum.

  1. Someone said you were 'Sanctimonious'.?

Did you ask them "What does that mean?"

SOME people CALL me homophobic, racist, and accuse me of blanket discrimination.
When asked to define it, the frequent response is on the order of
"Well...it means...um...you're a big poopy head, and PROBABLY a (fill in the blank)"

My (almost) inevitable snickering PROBABLY infuriates them to the 'splodie head critical mass event plateau.

    1. Yes, that is one way. Mental Ju-Jitsu. Agree and stick your leg out.

Now if they had said I was a sanctimonious git, I might have poured them a pint, with some of my 'special' in it.

      :)

  2. This is sad and deluded, and I know that, you probably have no idea why you get a reaction. You do pour out hatred, whether you recognize that, or not. You do appeal to the lowest common denominator. You are sanctimonious but you are also disingenuous. I don't think you mean to come over as bad, but you do. Big time.

You lack empathy or compassion and you take up solid positions which leave you open to challenge, which you do not take well. You know that you are always right. Hmmm.

I don't wish you ill, not at all, but I do identify with those that cannot tolerate your blatant sexism which appears to defy rationality. I think you have serious issues.

I am a man. I met you last week. Being above average intelligence is not the centre of my being. The cleverest people that I have come across in my life time do not need to be validated by Mensa which is something that I now understand. I will not be back but I have no doubt that you will. Be aware that some people were laughing and less than kind. Be good.

    1. YOU think I pour out hatred, young man. I don't and other's don't. You are entitled to live with your own imaginings. Not a lot I can or want to do with that.

I do sometimes lack empathy. I am not a perfect chap. But mostly I am compassionate, even with the likes of you. You have my compassion and pity. I rarely ever condemn a person. 'Love the sinner; not the sin', is on the walls of my bar. What's on yours? Troll those you don't like? Insult others that you don't know, like CherryPie?

I do take up solid positions. Quite right. I am not a wishy-washy relativist. You have to be quite firm when trying to love everyone, even handedly. If people cannot tolerate my 'blatant sexism' as you call it, then they do not have to listen or read. As you do not have to. Many others however seem to share my views. Such is life and diversity of Point of View. I will defend my positions and review them as others present cogent argument rather than ad hominum.

I am glad you do not need to be validated by mensa. Neither do I. In over two hundred posts I have mentioned it twice. In 43 years I have never relied upon it for anything. I have met many quite intelligent people though. Some very likeable. But in every crowd....

Some people were laughing. Presumably at me or at what I say - so you say. Oh dear. How can I live with myself? I must repent and do penance. NOT. I had a bit of a chuckle at some of the ideas and viewpoints of others there too. Some people have the most odd stances. Mostly they are entertaining. But I have not chased after them to harass and diminish them.

You have a problem. It ain't mine.

  3. One of the fun games is seeing how many epithets we can collect in one week. Mind you, there's stiff competition and it takes a lot of work offending enough people. ;-)

    1. Hahahahahaha. You would make a fine Tavern Keeper. Or a sailor. As it is, you have the finest bookshop on the virtual Planet and I see you regularly scrubbing the graffiti off the windows.

    1. Some others too have said they have trouble subscribing and even commenting. So many mange only with 'anonymous'. I do not know whay there is difficulty. I suspect it is the machime you and they are using: useful in so many instances, but not for 'blogger'. You could always bookmark the site and put it in your favourites store. Then you can drop in anytime and catch up with the previous posts.

Our Bouncer is a gentleman of muscle and guile. His patience has limits. He will check you at the door.

The Tavern gets rowdy visitors from time to time. Some are brain dead and some soul dead. They attack customers and the bar staff and piss on the carpets. Those people will not be allowed in anymore. So... Be Nice..
