Killing Christians

As Easter approaches, commemorating the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ, the world is turning its back on Christians.  Only Muslims seem to care.

We note in the Tavern that turning the other cheek is not enough for the media in the west. A complete and deliberate blindness and back-turning to what is going on is going on. And Muslim caring goes only as far as finding Christians and killing them wherever they can.

The media is also quite uncaring of the yellow streak down its backbone.

In London 500 Mohammedan mosques have been opened in the past few years as 500 Christian churches have been closed down.  Few in the media have noticed or cared. Only the explosions and vehicles crushing pedestrians get their attention, momentarily.
In Oz our favoured Mohammedan, Waleed Aly, star of the ABC, has not even mentioned his fellow Egyptian Mohammedans bombing Coptic Christian Churches packed with congregations. Children, men and woman blown to pieces matter not to him or the TV shows if they are Christians. He contemptuously flaunts his halal Easter chocolates and denigrates 'true blue' patriotic Australians; in an Australia built upon Christian-based civilisation.

Several people did stand in the bars to denounce the yellow-backs and the mohammedan apologists, and all the sundry anti-christians who permeate our media.

Jennifer Oriel started it off. She was fired up about it.
Let’s reflect on Muslim nations’ Christian genocide
Our nation’s newest refugees will soon celebrate their first Easter in Australia. It is a momentous occasion for those who survived Islamic State’s genocide of Christians and have been given a new life in our country.
Yet many Western nations refuse to recognise asylum for Christians fleeing genocide and persecution.
Typically, politicians cite the principle of non-discriminatory immigration to justify policies that result in discrimination against Christian victims of genocide.
It is morally reprehensible.
Last year, the US Congress declared that the Islamic State persecution of Christians and other minorities constituted genocide. The term was coined by Raphael Lemkin who recognised the slaughter of Armenians in 1915 as the first genocide of the 20th century. He wrote: “It [genocide] happened to the Armenians and after the Armenians, Hitler took action.”
It is estimated that the Ottomans massacred between 800,000 and 1.5 million Armenians in the genocide, most of whom were Christians. To commemorate its centenary, Pope Francis said: “The first genocide of the 20th century struck your own Armenian people, the first Christian nation.”
Turkey’s Islamist government continues to deny the genocide took place.
Western nations bear a special responsibility to shelter Christians fleeing genocide because they suffer systemic oppression in many Islamic states.
According to not-for-profit group Open Doors, last year was the worst on record for the persecution of Christians since it began reporting 25 years ago.
Each month, an estimated 322 Christians are killed for their faith and 772 suffer serious violence. In addition, 214 Christian churches and properties are destroyed.
Of the 10 countries ranked worst for Christian persecution, nine are Muslim majority nations.
The other is communist state North Korea.
Islamist persecution of Christians is intensifying in African and Southeast Asian countries. Last year, Boko Haram changed its general strategy from attacking anyone classified as an infidel to targeting Christians.
Its new leader, Abu Musab al-Barnawi, aligned the group with Islamic State and vowed to “blow up every Church” and “kill every Christian”.
The Islamist tactics used to annihilate Christians extend beyond bombs and guns. Muslim organisations in Nigeria that run camps for people displaced by Islamic State are reserving aid for Muslims only. Christian Bishop William Naga reported to Open Doors UK that....
“They will give food to the refugees, but if you are a Christian they will not give you food. They will openly tell you that the relief is not for Christians.”
Christians are also under threat in Southeast Asia where militant Islamism is on the rise. The trial of Jakarta’s Christian governor Basuki Ahok for blasphemy (that is, “insulting” the Koran) is a case in point. On Friday, about 15,000 Muslims marched to demand Ahok be jailed. Associated Press recorded a protester who said: “There’s no room for kaffir to lead in this nation.”
The Hungarian government recognises the persistence of global Christian persecution and the West’s responsibility to become assertive in redressing it. The conservative government led by Viktor Orban reports that four out of five people killed for their faith are Christians. It has responded by establishing the world’s first state department dedicated to addressing Christian persecution.
In Australia, Labor and Greens politicians responded negatively to news that the Liberal Coalition has provided asylum to several thousand Christians fleeing Islamic State genocide in its dedicated program for Syrian refugees. Greens senator Nick McKim created a distinction between selecting on “genuine need” and religion in relation to the Syrian intake, and described the latter as “disgusting”. He might need a briefing on the reality of jihadist genocide.
McKim is local to the Tavern. A slimey Green politician, given to supporting the hugging of trees and the killing of babies in the womb. He does not see distinctions between 'foetus' and 'baby' as disgusting. He does not see tearing the limbs off babies in the womb as any more noteworthy then blowing the limbs off Christians. Ignore both is his modus.
Labor legal affairs spokesman Mark Dreyfus reportedly “expressed concern about the prospect of persecuted Syrian refugees being selected for resettlement in Australia on the basis of religion”. He stated that more Muslims have been killed in the Middle Eastern conflict than members of any other religion.
Dreyfus casually turns his back on the fact that Mohammedans kill other Mohammedans as if for simple practice.  He willfully omits to mention that there are fewer and fewer Christians in the Middle East for Mohammedans to kill, so they turn on one another.
Some leftists seem wilfully ignorant about Islamic State’s deliberate genocide of Christians and the systemic persecution of Christian people in Muslim majority nations.
Thanks to ignorance, rank immorality, Christophobia or some combination thereof, the Western left has denied fair asylum to Christian victims of jihadist genocide for more than a decade.
Majed El Shafie, the Founder of One Free World International, highlighted the problem with “political correctness” in Canada’s humanitarian programs. He stated that among those accepted as refugees from Iraq and Syria: “Most if not all are Muslim Sunnis.”
Fox News reported that the Obama administration’s Syrian refugee program produced a questionable result. Of the 10,801 refugees accepted from Syria in 2016, almost all — 10,722 — were Muslims.
Only 56 were Christians.
NGOs have reported that Christians suffering persecution across the globe face “double discrimination”. They are persecuted for their faith and subsequently experience discrimination in United Nations refugee camps and facilities. The Barnabas Fund charity rescues Christians from Syria and reports they are at risk of violence in “Muslim-majority shelters”.
Catholic Archbishop Jacques Hindo stated that Christians were denied aid in Syria. He told the Vatican’s news service: “We have a hundred Assyrian families who have taken refuge, but they have received no assistance either from the Red Crescent or Syrian government aid workers, perhaps because they are Christians. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees is nowhere to be seen.”
In a column for Fox News, Nina Shea, the director of the Hudson Institute Centre for Religious Freedom, relayed that Christians in Lebanon are too afraid to enter UNHCR refugee camps in the region.
There are many emerging reports of Muslim attacks on Christian asylum seekers in transit to Europe and in refugee camps across the continent.
The refugees who escaped the Islamist genocide of Christians to find safe haven in Australia should be welcomed.
The coming Easter ritual focuses on the persecution and crucifixion of the world’s first Christian, Jesus Christ. But it culminates in a celebration of new life on Easter Sunday.
All peoples have experienced the relief of finding the light at the end of the tunnel after a long struggle. But in our time, none have struggled more than those who suffered genocide under Islamic State. Make them feel welcome this Easter.
Not just 'Islamic State', Jennifer. It is Islam. But you earn a fine drink on the house.

Piers Morgan is quite well known and not one of our usual customers. Frank Camp, however, spoke about his and the newest 'sound voice' in American TV: Mr Tucker Carlson. They had a chat the other evening it seems. And Frank himself had a lot to say.
Piers Morgan Asks Why U.S. Media Won't Cover Christian Genocide By Radical Muslims
On Monday, Piers Morgan asked an incredibly insightful question on Fox News' Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Why are American journalists essentially ignoring the massacre in Egypt?
Here's the pertinent portion of the exchange between Morgan and host Tucker Carlson:
CARLSON: "You sent out a tweet right after this [bombing in Egypt] saying: 'This will not get the attention of massacres is Europe, but it should.' Why won't it, do you think?"
MORGAN: "I think, unfortunately, if it happens in the Middle East, this kind of atrocity, it just does not seem to attract the kind of media attention in America that it would if it happened, as we've seen with the attacks in Sweden, the last few days, in London two weeks ago. I was there for that - huge attention in the American Media. In Paris, in Nice, these get huge attention. And yet what happened in Egypt was unbelievably significant.
If you look at what ISIS really stands for, what they are carrying out now in the Middle East - and in Egypt in particular - is a kind of genocidal attack on Christians and Christianity. They want Christianity eradicated. They want to convert all Muslims to their crusade, they want it to be a holy war; they want Christians gone.
And I don't think that narrative is getting the attention it should get in the American media..."
CARLSON: "What's so strange is the West is primarily Christian, predominantly - I mean, that's what makes it the West. And yet there's this sense that it's somehow wrong to root for the home team. When something happens to Christians abroad, it's somehow, I don't know, impolite to mention it because it's self-interested. Have you noticed this?"
MORGAN: "Right. ISIS couldn't be more transparent. After the attack in St. Petersburg last week, they made it absolutely clear that this is a war against the Cross. They said that. That was what the statement said. They are at war - in their heads - with Christianity. Not just with Christianity - they're at war with all other religions as well. But they have been singling out, in increasingly virulent terms, that their real war now is against Christians and the Cross...
I think this is a huge story. This is the kind of story that ought to be dominating cable news in America; it should be dominating headlines around the world. The press in America should be full of headlines about this. This narrative, to me, is very straightforward. ISIS have declared war on Christianity. I'm not seeing that being covered enough."
Although Morgan and Carlson asked the important question - why isn't this narrative dominating the news in the United States? - they didn't offer any real answers.
There are two reasons the assault on Christianity in the Middle East isn't being covered. First -as Piers Morgan noted - attacks in that part of the world seem almost routine, so they often go unnoticed.
However, the principle reason the media ignores the genocide of Christians in the Middle East at the hands of radical Muslims is because coverage of such events would harm their preferred narrative.
After every Islamic terrorist attack, the media asks the same question: "What could have motivated this attack?" And every time, the answer is a variation of the following statement: "We may never know."
The mainstream media is unwilling to acknowledge Islamic terrorism because to do so would undermine a delicate fiction that benefits progressives and Democratic politicians. The fiction is as follows: Conservative Christians stir up hatred against moderate Muslims by calling out every terrorist attack committed by jihadists.
In the aftermath of every Islamic terrorist attack, the following sequence of events needs to occur in order for progressives to keep their narrative running and profitable:
Most media outlets ignore or run cursory stories about the attack.
In response, conservative organizations cover the attack, correctly pinning the blame on radical Islamic philosophy.
Progressive media figures swoop in, and trot out the usual commentators who tell us that "not all Muslims are terrorists" (as if any sane individual thinks that). They call conservative coverage an "overreaction" that will perpetuate Islamophobia, and lead to bigoted attacks against moderate Muslims.
The media dusts off a story or two about someone attacking a moderate Muslim. These stories permeate the cable news and social media landscape.
Americans either shut up because they're afraid of looking like the bad guys, or they buy into the leftist narrative.
Progressives look like bleeding-heart heroes who are simply protecting a minority against the cruel, conservative, Christian majority.
Rinse and repeat.
By adhering to this cycle, progressives gain voters who see them as compassionate. Because the policies of the Left have no material value, everything they do is fashioned around appearances - namely, the appearance of compassion. Pretending to care is an incredibly powerful tool.
As mentioned above, conservatives are the "cruel majority" against whom progressives are waging war. A great many conservatives are Christian. Thus, to acknowledge Christian oppression or murder at the hands of Islamic terrorists would be to give legitimacy to the alleged bad guys.
Identifying and condemning Christian genocide at the hands of jihadists would harm the narrative of Christian conservatives fomenting unwarranted fear of moderate Muslims and stirring Islamophobia. So instead of calling out radical Islam, progressives simply look the other way, and follow their time-tested recipe.
Pints for all three men.

The left mindset is a huge problem.

Another fellow - an Oz man - in the bar put his oar in the water after declaring his apsotacy. He talks of himself, thus:   Eh?nonymous was a thoroughly repellent unemployed social justice warrior until a one in a million glitch in his Facebook account affected the algorithms in his news feed, omitting posts from his much loved left leaning Huffington Post and I F---ing Love Science, and inexplicably replacing them with centrist and conservative newsfeed items that slowly dragged him kicking and screaming into the light beyond the safe space that Mr. Zuckerberg had so carefully constructed for him. It’s a long road to recovery, but every Mark Steyn share he sees in his newsfeed is like another day clean from social justice addiction.

He had this to say:
Crickets Heard as Social Media Users Self-Censor Regarding the Suffering in Egypt
Usually a post on SMH covering needless slaughter in the Middle East would draw hundreds of waspish social justice warriors from gentrified suburbs, and hundreds more heavily conditioned plebs looking to curry favour with those who would never usually speak to them in any real world social interaction, in a mutually masturbatory feeding frenzy of virtue signalling.
Even the act of someone from this part of the world callously ploughing through scores of people (some children) in a lorry would predictably elicit a wave of concern not for the mangled pedestrians, but for the family and friends of the perpetrator should they suffer the indignity of a few questions from the constabulary or a little more scrutiny from the TSA.
But as this post at SMH shows, some Middle Eastern lives apparently matter more than others:
7 hours with few likes, and only one comment. A rather paltry effort for a piece about a minority group being killed because of their religion don’t you think? My aunt got more likes and comments when she posted a photo of her latest crop of tomatoes from the garden. So why did such a big story see such a minuscule response?
People decline to comment on social media news posts for two reasons. Firstly is of course a lack of interest. The second reason is the fear that one’s opinion could be perceived as socially toxic, and with it the fear of ostracism, losing ones job, or being branded a bigot.
To suggest that there is no interest in this story or sympathy for the victims is a stretch. And most people, even if it isn’t altruistic, will express sympathy for people who have lost their lives. By all rights there should be scores of comments on a mainstream media post that’s been up for 7 hours.
The really chilling thing is that this leaves us with only the second explanation. Forget the social justice warriors for a moment.
This post is still more evidence that the average person now feels that it is socially unacceptable to express sympathy for an innocent Christian who has been murdered if the perpetrator/s happen to be Islamic.
To do so now socially falls within the parameters of hate speech.
Let that sink in for a moment.
The very people who regard those who are wary of the ramifications of 18C as somehow being paranoid or bigoted are themselves too afraid to express sympathy for children of a minority group blown to pieces, merely due to their religious affiliation.
To 18C proponents, causing offence with mere words is a cardinal sin, yet censoring ones own criticism of barbarous extremists is somehow just and above board. Victim blaming at its most primal.
The madness of self-censoring our sympathy for dead children so as not to offend the sensibilities of the Jihadists who murdered them should be self-evident.
If you don’t feel safe and comfortable expressing sympathy without fear of reprisal as so many usually vocal commenters clearly do on the subject of Christan persecution in the face of Extremism, that’s all the evidence you’ll ever need as to why 18C and its ramifications for freedom are in need of review.
2000 years or so ago The Son of God was Crucified in Jerusalem.  Had today's excuse for western media been there - especially the Oz media - a small tenth of a column on page 17 of the Age would note it. Walleed would have been there at the foot of the Cross grinning instead of his usual slimey smirk, eating a halal chocolate bunny.
Clementine Ford, paid-for Feminists mouth would pen a column rejoicing that 'a man' had had it coming and bemoaning that the scourging was not enough.

The ABC would have a Q&A with Tony Wossname and an audience of especially selected SJWs all calling Christ a bigot who hated homosexuals.

Politician McKim would be preventing anyone drawing attention to the 'judicial' murder by putting 'do not cross' ribbons at 150 metres.

The economic pundits would talk only of the price of wood exports.

I do not know what you will be doing at Easter.

I shall be in the Crypt hanging my head in shame.

He died for my sins.

Pray for the light and be grateful that He rose from the Dead too.

We need to shout out His Word if the West's conscience is to be resurrected.

Pax
