Virtuous George, my Arse.

You do not have to be rich to be a virtue signaller. It is a job open to all, be they rich or poor, educated or not. No degree necessary. But if you are rich you can afford your own flagpole. You do not have to wait in a mob on a street corner for the TV Cameras and throw rocks just to be taken as a moral pundit. Hoist your flag, but be careful it is not a petard and your foot is caught in the rope.

I would really like to see Handsome George come good. I can wait. He sounds good; he says lots of 'socially approved' things; he's very Politically Correct is our George. Heck he even drinks podded coffee!  And he talks to and about refugees. Here he is.....

So his grand-dad was Oirish, therefore he has something in common with folk running under a hail of bullets like his friend Hilary. Hmmmm.  He just happened across those refugees in Berlin, where he can afford to go just as they can. But he also has a little place in Como which he imagined few refugees could afford. But they looked him up while trying to pass through.

People have noticed that George has not been very accommodating.

George Clooney is a very typical Hollywood hero. He has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump since the moment that 'the Donald' entered the race. Apparently, karma does come back. All Clooney’s trash talk has finally got back to him.

So far though, a makeshift camp-site by illegal Muslim refugees in Clooney’s backyard in fashionable Lake Como, Italy means little to the politically correct activist.

And although Clooney, over-the-hill singer Madonna and other mega-rich celebrities make the Italian resort their vacation hotspot, rest assured that this situation will be ignored by the rich and famous.

So far, Catholic Charities' local chapter has been handling the unwelcome influx of refugees, which at last count reported over 1,000 just within the last few weeks alone.

Roberto Bernasconi, a spokesman for Catholic Charities, acknowledged that the situation is growing increasingly hard, saying: “But it is very difficult; we do not know how to welcome all these people.

In the Como diocese we have over 2,000 migrants in the facilities, there is no room.”

Check out some of George's new neighbors. I'm sure he will invite them over to welcome them to the hood.

However this would be a perfect time for Clooney who described “The Donald” as a “xenophobic fascist,” to actually put into practice what he preaches and simply open his multi-million dollar lakeside mansion and take in few hundred of those Muslim refugees, then we may actually say he’s a man of his word…we’re waiting George.

So far George has kept his head down looking at his $1000 shoes and wondering if he should swap them for a nescafe. It just might be - to be fair - that he simply hasn't noticed all those people he claims to share a lot in common with, but his neighbours have had plenty to say.
Restaurant owner Maria Grazia told us: ‘I don’t want them here.
‘Italy has enough problems without trying to solve the problems of the world. We [Italy] should not have to deal with these people on our own.
‘Europe [the EU] does nothing to help us. Now they make us – me, my family and other Italian families – pay for them.’
Housewife Federica, 55, said: ‘A small number of immigrants is not a problem but now they are so many.
‘You see them arriving at that the San Giovanni station. They are not poor hungry refugees but they are big and strong.

‘People here in Como don’t like them. There are simply too many of them.’
Tour guide Denise, 67, added: ‘Immigration here in Italy is a problem, a big problem because of the huge numbers who are arriving all the time.’
Chauffeur Santi, 26, said: ‘It is good for Switzerland that they have closed the border to migrants but it is bad for Italy.
‘We simply don’t have the resources to deal with all these new people.
‘Italy has lots of problems of our own without having to try to deal with other people’s problems. It is a complex situation.
‘It is a lack of resources that is the problem with immigration. Not that we are bad people but that he don’t have the resources to deal with all of these new people arriving in our country.’
Financial consultant Emilio, 52, said: ‘Immigration is a big problem. I don’t want lots of immigrants coming to Como.
George's friend Madonna's small place nearby
‘This will affect our jobs, our resources, and the character of our town.’
Clooney spends up to four months a year as his lake-side 30-room Villa Oleandra which he bought in 2002, officially putting the up-market destination on the international map.
‘People here in Como don’t like them. There are simply too many of them.’
He celebrated his marriage to Amal Clooney at the £7.5 million Italian home in the picturesque village of Laglio where he keeps an impressive wine cellar and tours the lake on a motor launch.
Scenes for Clooney’s heist-movie Oceans Twelve were shot at his Villa Oleandra and actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were married in the grounds.
Co-star Brad Pitt and his wife Angelina Jolie are frequent house guests. Matt Bellamy, frontman of the band Muse, who has his own villa along the shore, often pops in.
However those who work and live in the area fear the area is being permanently damaged.
Simona, 27, who works in a shop, said: ‘We don’t need any more immigrants here. They are already all over the town. I really hope the situation will not get any worse. Already they sleep in the park. We don’t want people all over the streets.
‘This will only ruin the tourist trade. No one will want to come here.’
Music superstar Madonna, fashion house empress Dontella Versace and millionaire entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson are among his many high-rolling neighbours.
Diners at the restaurant on Isola Comacina, Lake Como’s only island, have included Princess Margaret, Kirk Douglas, Barbra Streisand, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Elton John.
Banking heir James Rothchild proposed to hotel heiress Nicky Hilton on a boat on the 28-mile lake in the shadow of the Swiss mountains.
Como’s grand Villa d’Este hotel charges up to £2,000-a-night. Previous guests include the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, US President JFK with Marilyn Monroe and more recently although separately Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.
And Robert De Niro rubs shoulders with Clooney over cocktails at the lakeside Harry’s Bar where VIPs can enjoy a drink without fear of being photographed, just a few miles from the border.
Meanwhile African migrants at one hostel have told MailOnline how they were forced to leave Italy because their asylum applications are turned down.
If their demand is rejected they are no longer eligible to the Euro 75 per month subsistence allowance and are evicted from the hostel.
Come along George. You can't let your lefty cultural marxist social action be outdone by those pesky Catholics, can you ? Let us see you try to redeem yourself.

Buddy, can you spare a dime?

Pax.

    1. Perhaps he will be shamed into doing something. Probably in America with a camera crew in tow. Put $10 bucks on him not opening his big, seldom used mansion to use though.

  2. George and the Hollywood's like him are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. They want to take away guns fro the general populace, yet remain behind the protection of armed guards themselves. He would never open him home to any of these refugees and he know s it. -The Southern Girl:)

    1. One hears occasionally about a fine character in tinseltown: a chap or chapess who does good quietly, without fanfare. Perhaps someone might point them out. (hint) :)

    1. It is astonishing just how quickly it can happen. I can remember the days when there were parts of Coventry - a town well known to me in my younger days - where one needed a passport. They used to say, "you can tell a Coventry kid from the shamrock in his turban".

Can't quite put my finger on any just now but yes, there must be - somewhere.

  5. Many American's have no concept of 'History', it is a young nation...

I wonder what George thinks about the 'Native' Indians that were invaded and their 'History'?

I wonder if he thinks that by his actions the same thing might happen to him and his 'Native' Americans. This time by invitation rather than invasion...

    1. By the Lord Harry, you are right. I knew there was something missing and you have put your finger right on it. His claim to have much in common with the refugees (although he never was one) backfires spectacularly.

The Tavern gets rowdy visitors from time to time. Some are brain dead and some soul dead. They attack customers and the bar staff and piss on the carpets. Those people will not be allowed in anymore. So... Be Nice..
